Bandzai: A Play-to-Earn Game Based on NFT Cards
Bandzai is a fun play-and-earn game based on NFT cards called Zaïs and features an element-themed shifumi-style fighting system.
Welcome to the Zealy Blog! Today we have an exciting interview with Sna, discussing his project Bandzai.
In this interview, the CM of Bandzai, shares a few thoughts on the project, his passion for P2E, and the cool features that Zealy offers to the project's community. Enjoy the read!
Tell us about your Project
Bandzai is a fun play-and-earn game based on NFT cards called Zaïs and features an element-themed shifumi-style fighting system.
It is developed on Polygon and is currently in alpha testing. The creators' vision is to prioritize decentralization, which they believe is of prime importance for web3 projects, as many interesting projects in the P2E space are designed without taking decentralization into account.
In this game, everything is on-chain, with every player's action being handled by smart contracts. This philosophy implies that there can be no human manipulation of the in-game ecosystem.
Tell us about yourself as CM/Project Lead
My name is Sna, and I am an independent project advisor and CM & comms manager for Web3 projects. Currently, I am advising and managing coms for Bandzai to help them launch the game and project. After the launch, the game will be put in the hands of the community through a DAO.
I have also advised other P2E projects, including Animoca Brands. I saw the potential Bandzai had in terms of an in-game economy, as the game design promises a very good yield.
The simple and quirky design of the zaïs and their world drew me to Bandzai. I thought it would make for awesome promotional and user-created content, and help build a fun community.
Play-to-earn projects are usually great Web3 projects to do CM and coms for, as they bridge the gap between gaming communities, who are usually more inclined to engage in activities, quests, and so on.
Why do you like using Zealy?
Zealy is the support I've been looking for since I started CM!
Its gamification features help create, maintain, and drive a community in multiple ways. Recurring Quests keep socials welcoming and active, while more focused Quests help create impactful communication with members.
Zealy also empowers project-related content creation, such as memes, articles, and videos, and rewards creators for these more time-consuming activities.
The possibilities are limitless if you use your imagination to create and chain Quests!
What’s your Quest strategy like - and your absolute favourite Quest?
I typically use an onboarding flow to guide new members to all of our social media channels and encourage them to build out their Zealy profile.
After that, I divide activities by social media platform and include base Quests, such as social-specific tasks and recurring tasks that keep the community engaged.
Next, I create more linear flows where questors perform actions in a defined order, usually related to important news. For example, if we publish a medium article or video, they might be required to push the article, then push the Telegram announcement, and finally push the related tweet.
The focus then shifts to the most time-consuming and rewarding Quests, such as creating content specifically linked to that news (e.g., memes, videos, streams, etc.).
One of my favourite types of Quests involves offering daily fun stickers on Telegram or Discord, which encourages more activity and engagement in the channels.
What Rewards do you currently offer your community?
Bandzaï has just launched its alpha version, which is expected to last around a month. To celebrate, we have created a sprint with almost 600,000 $BZAI and Zaï NFTs to reward the top 200 leaderboard players.
We are also taking advantage of the Zealy Discord integration and rewarding questers with new roles as they progress on the Questboard!
Why is your community the best?
The Bandzai community is still young, but the game's nature and lore will create a fun and quirky tone where community members can thrive.
What trends do you see in Web3? What are your predictions for what’s coming up next?
Web3 must recover from the issues it encountered by forgetting about decentralization, as seen with CEXs and other factors. Therefore, true decentralization is poised to make a comeback.
Web3 will also increasingly connect with the off-chain world in both directions. It will be more influenced by external trends such as AI. It remains to be seen whether any project will find actual, practical applications merging blockchain and AI.
Furthermore, Web3 will become much more mainstream and finally impact sectors such as supply chain and identification through self-sovereign blockchain technologies.
Many Web3 niches are still waiting for the public to be ready…
What other Web3 projects are you also super excited about right now?
As an independent advisory firm in this space, we have our eyes on many promising projects 😀
If I'm consistent with my Play-to-Earn bias, I would recommend Nemesis Downfall, a small independent FPS game currently in development.
If I'm coherent with my decentralization bias, I would suggest Gigaswap, a killer OTC platform with ambitious plans, including the ability to let people swap BTC with other assets on any blockchain, thanks to ICP.
Where else can people find your project on social and Zealy?
