Exploring MFL's Web3 Football Management Game with Lucas Poyet

MFL (Metaverse Football League), is an innovative football ⚽️ management game where you can become a football agent, a club owner, a scout and more! Our guest for today is Lucas Poyet, the Community Manager and Project Lead at MFL.

Tell us about MFL and its goals!

MFL is a Web3 football management game that allows Users to guide their players towards a successful and lucrative career while building and managing their football club. It provides opportunities to compete in leagues and tournaments and interact with other Users to strike deals. We aim to create a multi-faceted ecosystem that emulates the workings of the real footballing world. MFL lets Users tailor their own experiences, giving them complete control over their level of involvement, personal goals, and interactions.

Can you tell us about yourself as CM/Project Lead at MFL?

Sure, I've spent most of my career working in tourism, hospitality, and gaming, specifically casinos. I discovered MFL as a User and approached the team as I identified needs related to copywriting and design, and both are skills I practise as a hobby. The team is French (and so am I), but I've lived in New Zealand for over a decade and am bilingual.

Why do you like using Zealy?

I think that mixing engagement Quests with gaming Quests related to our game is great. It is an important balance to have.

We're asking a lot from our Users, but they can also have fun thanks to the gaming side of Quests. The platform is a great idea! There is so much potential to do other things, such as using influencers and partnering with other projects.

We've barely scratched the surface. Since our Questboard started, our community reacted incredibly well, so I can't wait to add more to the game and find new ways to engage and reward our community thanks to Zealy.

How has your experience been working on this project?

I'm still learning the ins and outs of the community and looking to polish my skills there, especially as a communicator. But overall, I love working on this project because of my passion for sports and the potential that NFTs bring to the world of sports management. It's exciting to be a part of this new wave of Web3 projects that are changing the way we interact with the world and providing opportunities to achieve new levels of ownership and control.

How does MFL differ from traditional football management games?

We are designing a game that combines the three pillars of Football, Gaming, and Blockchain. By harnessing the power of NFTs and blockchain technology, we are giving football fans a fresh take on the sports management genre. Our goal is to continue paving the way for mainstream adoption of web3 applications through a fun, captivating experience that caters to football fans of all backgrounds, all over the world.

What advantages does blockchain offer MFL?

Blockchain allows us to add a whole new dimension to the ecosystem. In MFL, each in-game asset is a fully tradeable, one-of-a-kind non-fungible token. MFL Users collectively have custody of the entire ecosystem's tradeable asset base, and every transaction will be verifiable. This creates a fully user-owned economy where the ability to create value from playing is an exciting prospect.

What’s your Quest strategy like - and your absolute favourite Quest?

We mix in fun Quests with more laborious ones. My favourite Quests are the in-game achievements, like winning a match by scoring a hat trick! It encourages people to play the game and helps us grow!

What rewards does MFL offer its community?

We have started with a sprint that rewards the top Users with packs. They win MFL players and clubs, and we are thinking of potentially adding priority access to future drops as rewards.

Why do you believe your community is the best?

Our community is the best because they're passionate, kind, and always keen to provide useful feedback. Their engagement and enthusiasm for the game are what make MFL possible.

What trends are you seeing in Web3?

We are in the middle of an AI tsunami, and I think a lot of Web3 companies/startups are going to look to implement AI features into their projects.

What other Web3 projects are you excited about?

I'm keeping a keen eye on other Flow projects because we're like a family over here.

Projects like Flovatar or Ballerz are awesome! They have a great, engaged community.

Anything else you'd like to tell the world?
