Tell us about your Project
CyberVerse is a play-and-earn browser game which aims to bridge the gap between gaming and NFTs. We are inspired by old classics like Maplestory and Old School run-escape, so we want an area where users can engage in our community via in-game activities and contests.
CyberCitizens are playable characters in the CyberVerse, of which there are only 2080. We want to have a base character skin model for users who wish to play without buying an NFT (our whitepaper outlines barriers to blockchain gaming adoption, and we believe one of them we feel is a high cost for entry).
A friend of mine and I started it roughly two years ago, and we have grown a strong community since that moment, received IDO funding and found some key members to join our team, all while continuing to develop our game.
Our team is still quite small as Ergo developers are hard to find. The team is as follows: me (front-end, CM, marketing), the founder (he does the art for NFTs), another artist we hired for in-game art and our game developer.
Tell us about yourself as CM/Project Lead
I used to be a supply teacher, but after gas prices increased, a couple with my travelling time made that a little bit unsustainable. I've always been interested in programming but was never able to pursue it.
Then I did a coding bootcamp for web development and met an Ergo community member, and we eventually became good friends.
We went on to start CyberVerse (known as ErgoPixels at the time) and launched our first collection. Realizing we needed a website and because we had no funding at the time, I made the Website, and we were able to secure some funds by selling out our first drop, which helped us with our project.
I reached out to some community managers from Cronos projects and got in touch with Lawrence at MetaFrontier. MetaFrontier is a company that contracts out community managers knowledgeable about blockchain tech for discord projects.
The CMs rotate 8-hour shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage and communicate with each other via telegram. I had gotten hired by them at that time and began CMing for many different projects across Solana and Cronos.
At CyberCitizens, I manage my community and make relationships to build a stronger sense of community, which I enjoy.
Why do you like using Zealy?
Zealy has helped immensely by keeping Discord active and busy for the big communities I have CMed for.
Zealy keeps users busy with the Quests and prevents our Discord channels from having community arguments like other big servers.
I would love to see Ergo integration on Zealy! We may be a small community, but I know the communities on Ergo will utilize it to its fullest potential!
I look forward to it when that time comes.
What’s your Quest strategy like - and your absolute favourite Quest?!
Generally, I like to have all our social channels live and then create Quests for Users to follow our accounts. In CyberCitizens case, Users can join our Discord, Telegram, and follow our Twitter. Once they do it, they can access the daily/weekly Quests and any new ones.
Then I like creating Quest involving a meme tweet (this is a lot of fun, and I've seen very funny ones), a few weekly quests to invite X users to the discord, giving increasing XP the more users invite (have to be careful of fake/invite bots)
Each quest we implement must have an objective, from boosting the number of members, increasing community knowledge about the project, increasing Twitter exposure, and increasing community engagement rate.
My favourite types of Quests boost community knowledge because I can create quizzes -which I love doing (maybe because I used to be a teacher).
What Rewards do you currently offer your community?
For CyberVerse, we plan to offer CYPX rewards (our in-game token) and various NFTs.
Why is your community the best?
I love the community at CyberVerse because it shows that quality over quantity can make all the difference.
We may be small, but we have members who are just as engaged as we are with building and helping. Not just our community but the Ergo community itself has been amazing in a nutshell.
We have reached out to ErgoPad, and they helped us immensely with our IDO.
What trends do you see in Web3? What are your predictions for what’s coming up next?
This is very difficult to say... I think we will inevitably see more investments in Web3 infrastructure and technologies. The question is when.
During the last bull run, it was the first time crypto went mainstream which I feel sets the stage for an even larger bull run. Then we will see Web3 technologies explode with projects that developed successful applications and generated utility.
I feel it also depends on projects that are not only user-friendly but reliable and safe.
Web3 has the potential to become a widespread technology. But I feel it is much too difficult for the average person to utilize it safely and efficiently, which is a big hurdle in mass adoption.
What other Web3 projects are you also super excited about right now?
MetaFrontier (I mentioned them earlier because they are one of the first companies I have seen that deals in this sort of area)
Where else can people find your project?
